Exams and Grades
Demo Exam
The demo exam will enable you to prepare yourself for the actual exam. We decided to not include sample solutions from the beginning in order to motivate you to work on it yourself; you are encouraged to figure your own solution out and to discuss it in your group. We will publish sample solutions mid calendar week 6 (a few days before the exam). Update: Sample solutions v3 are available for download.
Regulations
There will be one written exam which counts one third towards your final grade. All students actively working on a project are qualified and thus registered for the first exam automatically.
To pass the course, you need an overall average of 4.0 or better. An additional written exam (second exam) will be offered in mid March. All students can participate in the first exam as well as in the second exam (if qualified for the first exam). The better grade of the two written exams counts.
Under important circumstances, the written exam can be replaced by an oral exam. Two oral exams are impossible.
Cheat Sheet
You are allowed to use a so-called cheat sheet: one single, standard A4 page (thus, text on one side only) with handwritten notes. Please, bear in mind that you have to hand it in together with your exam. We will staple your cheat sheet to your exam at the end.
Place of Exam
We have reserved several lecture halls (see below) for the two exams. Check your profile in the CMS for your individual room assignment (we will publish it for the second exam by March 10th, 18:00). Please, make sure to be in front of your assigned room at least 5 minutes before the exam starts.
